These can be performed without weights but they are far more effective with some dumbbells in your hands. Simply grab a box or bench and step on to it with the weight in your hands. Alternate the foot you step up with in order to make sure both sides get worked equally.
Just to be clear you aren’t actually doing any lifting anything with your glutes here despite what the name implies.
For this exercise just lie on your back with your knees bent in front of you. Keep a straight back and push your midsection into the air – you should feel your glutes doing the majority of the work here.
