10 Annoying People You Will See at the Gym
These are the 10 annoying people you will see at the gym. I bet there is someone in your gym that does one of these annoying things.
Mr. Unsolicited Advice
You won’t have to put much effort into finding these guys – they will actually approach you. Mid-routine they will offer their unsolicited advice on how you should be performing an exercise or the problems with your current routine. You are then forced either to deviate from your routine and do what they say or ask them to leave you alone. We aren’t necessarily saying these guys are always wrong – I’m sure you regularly see people performing exercises incorrectly or flat-out dangerously but unless someone is about to seriously injure themselves (like drop a barbell on their neck) then don’t intervene. If you absolutely must give someone advice, don’t do it in the middle of their routine. Complimenting someone on a good lift, however, or ASKING for advice is fine as long as it doesn’t interfere with their workout.
The Yeller, or the lunk as planet fitness not-so-affectionately refers to them as, are those guys who drop their weight, grunt and yell after every weight and generally making way too much noise. While we don’t expect everyone to be silent during their workout, particularly when lifting heavy weights, these guys seem to make it their objective to insure that people out in the parking lot can hear them.
